Doona i achieves outstanding results in the 2024 ADAC Car Seat Crash Test

We’re excited to share that the Doona i Car Seat, in conjunction with the ISOFIX base, achieved the top safety score in the 2024 ADAC child car seat test! With a strong final score of 1.7 (second overall out of 17 car seats), the results cement the Doona i Car Seat & Stroller as a top-choice safety solution for infants.

What do the 2024 ADAC test results reveal about Doona i?

Doona i’s outstanding performance in the 2024 ADAC car seat safety test highlights Doona’s commitment to providing not only exceptional safety, but also user-friendly design, comfort, and convenience. We broke it down to help you understand what the ADAC test results mean for you and your little one.

Exceptional Safety

Doona i achieved the top score in the safety category, which is a superior result in both front and side-impact crash tests (the lower the score, the better). This exceptional result underscores the Doona i Car Seat’s ability to keep your child safe in the unfortunate case of a collision.

User-Friendly Design

The ADAC test also highlighted Doona-i's ease of installation and use, made possible by the ISOFIX base system, which ensures a secure and straightforward installation process and reduces the risk of improper use.

Ergonomic Comfort

Designed with a focus on child comfort, the Doona-i offers plush padding, adjustable head support, and breathable fabrics, making it ideal for use on longer journeys.

Eco-Friendly Materials

At Doona, our commitment to sustainability is evident in our choice of materials. Both the Doona i and the ISOFIX base are designed with sustainable, non-toxic, and high quality materials, following a commitment to environmentally responsible child safety products.

With Doona i, parents can feel confident knowing they are choosing a car seat that has been rigorously tested and highly rated by one of the most respected car seat safety organizations in the industry.

What is the ADAC car seat safety test?

ADAC testing refers to safety assessments conducted by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), Europe's largest automobile club based in Germany. Their original and most well-known service (among many) is roadside assistance, but they also focus on car seat safety testing. Going beyond the minimum requirements for car seat safety set by European regulations, the ADAC’s rigorous and unbiased standards set the benchmark for car seat safety testing around the world.

What does the ADAC car seat crash test measure?

The ADAC's 2024 car seat crash tests evaluated several key aspects of child car seats, including:

Crash Safety

The tests measured how well each car seat protected children in simulated crash scenarios, assessing factors like impact absorption and structural integrity.

Usability

This aspect evaluated how easy it is to install and adjust the car seat, ensuring parents can easily use it correctly every time.

Ergonomics

The comfort and support provided to the child were considered, ensuring that the design promotes a safe and comfortable seating position.

Environmental Impact

The materials used in the car seats were assessed on their eco-friendliness, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.

At Doona, we are committed to providing safety, comfort, and convenience for every family. Which is also why we’ve created our innovative and revolutionary Doona Car Seat & Stroller which transforms from a car seat to a stroller in the click of a button; and Liki Trike — the most compact folding toddler trike on the market that grows alongside toddlers with five modes of use.
